Residency

The joint PRIM | MAI residency offers long-term combined support to artists wishing to experiment, develop their skills and create a work in the field of new media arts.

PRIM and Codes d’accès are partnering to offer an exceptional opportunity to an emerging audio artist to produce a Surround work for broadcast with Codes d’accès. Focusing on mixing and mastering, the selected artist will be able to finalize his or her project in PRIM’s sound lab and benefit from broadcasting as part of Codes d’accès’s regular programming.

PRIM and SPOROBOLE are joining forces to offer a creative residency that will take advantage of their mutual skills: on the one hand, PRIM’s expertise in film production; and on the other hand, Sporobole’s expertise in the creation of interactive virtual reality works.

This 3-month residency offers the artist the opportunity to create an interactive cinematic virtual reality work, i.e. including filmed components and interaction devices. The residency will be accompanied by a $10,000 fee and over $30,000 in services.

Since 2005, Dazibao and PRIM have joined forces to offer an artist an exceptional opportunity to produce and distribute a work. The selected proposal takes into account the specificities of both organizations and, as a result, must address the formal and conceptual problems innate to image-based practices while having no qualms about tackling audio, video and digital processing.

Unlike other residency programs where a jury selects the candidate, the PRIM residency is by invitation only from the board of directors and is intended to provide an artist with all PRIM resources for a year to realize an original work. With a PRIM residency, you have carte blanche!
