New composition of the Board

Following our Annual General Meeting on December 16, PRIM is pleased to announce the new composition of its Board.

Karla Meza and Lessandro Socrates were re-elected, having joined the Board last summer. Aimé Majeau Beauchamp joins the Board for his first term. Together, they bring new perspectives and actively participate in the renewal of the Board.

Claudie Lévesque, Robert D. Morais and Joyce Joumaa also continue their commitment to the Board.

Finally, PRIM would like to extend its warmest thanks to Annabel Loyola and François Delisle for their sustained commitment over many years. Their involvement over the years has had a significant impact on the life and development of the organization. A special mention goes to Simon Gaudreau, whose involvement on the Board until last summer was part of an equally sustained and decisive journey for PRIM.

This new composition of the Board reflects PRIM’s commitment to a diverse and inclusive Board, reflecting the communities it supports.

Doc at Risk

The project awarded the Doc à risque is Pimmariit by Emmet Walsh .

This feature-length documentary introduces us to Adamie Kalingo, an elder from Ivujivik, who undertakes several expeditions with members of his community to fish, hunt and visit islands where the Inuit have left behind mysterious circular rock formations. These journeys by boat and on foot are the setting for Adamie’s memories of his own past, that of his father, mother, grandparents and children. He ponders the importance of the Inuit’s place in the Ivujivik territory, their way of life in the present day, their place in history and their prospects for the future.

A special mention goes to A summer in Itilli by Myna Ishulutak and Aïda Maigre-Touchet !

This feature-length documentary plunges us into the Itilli camp, where traditional knowledge is preserved by the elders through hunting, fishing and the importance of caribou. This camp is an essential place of transmission for the younger generations. By filming, the artists teach, learn and practice together. The film conveys a precious experience: the freedom and joy of a young generation evolving in a natural environment, while reconnecting with their ancestral Inuit ways of life.

Myna and Aïda will benefit from an 85% discount on our production and post-production equipment.

Congratulations to all the artists!

And for those of you who would like to make your next deposit, you have until April 15, 2025.
