To apply for assistance under this program, you must:<\/p>\n

- Be an artist or artists\u2019 collective creating works independently;<\/li>\n
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. In the case of a collective, at least one member must meet this requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
PRIM invites emerging, mid-career and established artists to submit a project. In an effort to support diversity and inclusion, PRIM encourages proposals from artists who identify as members of a minority.<\/p>\n

General eligibility rules<\/strong><\/p>\n
One application per calendar year and per artist or collective is eligible for this program.<\/p>\n
The same project cannot be submitted to two programs simultaneously.<\/p>\n
There is no limit as to the number of times a project may be submitted in the event it is rejected for a previous application period. However, we strongly recommend that you read and take into account the jury comments if you are thinking of submitting it later. <\/p>\n
Eligible projects<\/strong><\/p>\n
All proposals for producing independent media works in any artistic practice using sound or moving images are eligible. Proposals must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n

- Have confirmation for distribution at a recognized public event (festival, gallery programming, etc.)<\/li>\n
- Not have submitted or been able to submit the project to another PRIM support program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Note: Projects that are part of a school curriculum are not eligible.<\/em><\/p>\n
Eligible costs<\/strong><\/p>\n
PRIM\u2019s support under this program takes the form of a discount on the non-member rate for renting equipment for the following services:<\/p>\n

- Image editing and finishing<\/li>\n
- Colorization<\/li>\n
- Sound mixing<\/li>\n
- Digitization, transfer and DCP creation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Non-eligible costs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Evaluation process<\/strong><\/p>\n
Eligible applications are evaluated by a jury made up of the director general and at least one artist member of the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n
The committee evaluates on merit based on the program\u2019s evaluation criteria. At the end of the evaluation, the committee members decide whether to award the assistance. The decisions are final and without appeal.<\/p>\n

Jury members must follow the Jury Member Professional Ethics Code and the Conflict of Interest rules.<\/p>\n
Response time<\/strong><\/p>\n
PRIM will notify you of the decision on the application no later than 10 business days after its submission date.<\/p>\n

Artists\u2019 obligations<\/b><\/p>\n
